Oh yeah, we forgot to mention...

WE MOVED TO PORTLAND, OREGON! Cody is now a pilot for Seaport Airlines, a small company that flies passengers from Portland to Seattle everyday. He flies a plane called the Pilatus PC-12. It's a cool plane from what I hear. Hopefully I'll get to ride in it soon. We couldn't be more excited about the move! Ever since we were married, we thought it would be fun to move out of state for awhile and have an adventure of our own. It's been a little crazy trying to get everything arranged for the move and for me to finish up all of my jobs here in Salt Lake, but we did it!Last week, Cody and I drove a honkin' 17-foot box truck up to Portland. It was quite the drive and my first time driving such a massive vehicle...I only had two small panic attacks as I drove through the Cascades. I felt like I was going to hit everything. Aside from that, everything went smoothly. When we got to our new house, our friend Brandon had flown up there to help us unpack. What a guy! He and Cody unloaded the truck in an hour and a half...unbelievable considering how much stuff was packed in.

So our house is actually up in Vancouver, Washington...just north of Portland. It's a two story duplex with a huge backyard, which will be perfect for Kusaba. We love the scenery up there. The rivers are so beautiful. We can't wait to get out and wakeboard on them... Our next order of business will be GETTING a boat so that we can wakeboard on them! Did I mention that we have a guest bedroom? So for those of you who really love us and want to come visit, you will have a place to stay. Please come visit soon!

Undercover Christmas Doggie

We hope everyone had a great Christmas! Ours was just great. I think one of my favorite things about Christmas was a present that Grandpa Jerald (Cody's dad) gave to Kusaba. He bought our dog his very own hoodie...and the best part was that Kusaba didn't rip it off. It was hilarious! Here are a few pictures from Christmas. We loved every minute of it this year and feel so blessed to have spent it with our family and friends.

WHY JACK BAUER IS MY HERO

So, I'm really surprised that I am making this post before Cody is...because it's really him that has a man crush on Jack. Anyway, up until two weeks ago, we had not seen one episode of 24. Yeah, I know crazy. I don't know how we have been living. My friend at work let me borrow the first season on dvd and ever since then we haven't stopped watching or thinking about the show! We try to limit ourselves to only to two or three episodes a night, but it's so hard when the story keeps getting better. Our conversations now consist of questions like, "What would Jack Bauer do?" I think every Chuck Norris quote could be replaced with Jack Bauer's name...

1) Jack Bauer does not sleep. He waits.
2) Jack Bauer doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information that he wants.
3) When the Boogeyman goes to sleep at night, he checks his closet for Jack Bauer.
4) Jack Bauer can kill two stones with one bird.

See, it totally fits! For those of you out there who have kept up on their 24....DON'T TELL US ANYTHING! We plan to waste more time being lazy and finishing up all of the seasons.

Maple bars with bacon...don't diss it until you try it!

So, Cody and I were up in Portland the other day...we have been all over the place lately! Anyway, we went to a place called Voodoo Doughnuts and it was quite the experience! First of all, we had been hearing about this place from a ton of friends saying that we needed to go...so we were expecting that this bakery was a huge franchise in Portland. What we found is that it's actually a teeny tiny little hole in the wall bakery located right in downtown Portland, but amazing nonetheless. Every doughnut that they sell has some crazy name (for the sake of the innocent, I won't repeat any of the naughty names!).


Anyway, they sell doughnuts covered in peanut butter with oreos and doughnuts covered in Captain Crunch cereal just to name a couple. Our favorite, though, was the maple bar topped off with BACON. (displayed here) Gross, right? I was sketched out on trying it, but I finally gave in and it was delicious. What a great combo of sweet and salty! So, for those of you who are looking for something fun to do if you are ever in Portland, go visit VOODOO doughnuts!

A NEW YORK MINUTE...LITERALLY!

I've always wanted to visit New York City in the fall. So, Cody and I decided to fly to New York for the day last Thursday. We took the red eye flight out, got in at 6:30 in the morning and then flew home that night. It was exhausting, but so worth it. We had no clue how much fun you could have in one day! It was an awesome date...and very out of the ordinary. Just how we like it! Here is a video of the short, but sweet trip to New York. Aviation Nation

Well this weekend my dad and I got to attend the 4th annual Boseman trip to Aviation Nation at nellis AFB in Las Vegas. This year it was just my dad and I representing, and it was good to have a father son outing. If you don't know what Aviation Nation is, it is the Air show of all air shows (except for Oshkosh... see septemeber post)

Anyway, we have been there so many times that it feels like I could probably do half of the flying demos (i just need to convince them to let me)

Some of the Highlights were the F22 demo, it was the best and longest Raptor demo I have seen yet. This plane is just ridiculous, it does some things that airplanes are NOT supposed to be doing, Here is a link to a video. watch about the first 2.30 and you'll see what I mean.

The Heritage Flight, which is supposed to represent past, present, and future. It is always awesome to see 3 amazing airplanes from different eras flying together in formation. This particular heritage flight consisted of a P-51, F-15, & F-22.


And the thunderbirds, they are always awesome and inspiring to watch no matter how many times you have seen them. The amount of discipline, training, and skill that goes into a production like this is amazing. To be able to fly these maneuvers safely and precisely hundreds of times year is astonishing.

ELECTION DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!

Its been a rather soggy and un-fallish day here in Salt Lake, but a day that will be remembered in the history books nonetheless! For today, I have two pieces of advice for those who are looking for some....

1) GO VOTE!

2) DON'T GO TO STARBUCKS AND TRY TO GET A FREE HOT CHOCOLATE...I heard that they were giving out a free tall coffee to those that came in wearing the "I VOTED!" sticker, so I figured that us non-coffee drinkers could just get a hot chocolate instead. I was terribly mistaken. I walked in and said, "Hi, I'd like to get my free hot chocolate." as I pointed to the sticker that I was so proudly wearing. They looked at me like I was crazy. "What, you don't give out something else for those who don't drink coffee?" NOPE. So, even though this is the perfect day to have a hot chocolatey drink to warm your frozen hands, don't count on a free one from Starbucks!

Murder Mystery Dinner

So we got the chance to attend the now annual Orndorff Murder mystery dinner. It was a blast, as neither of us had ever done one of these, so we didn't know what to expect. The theme was "murder at the Deadwood Saloon" which meant it was a western theme.

Tennille was a rugged outlaw named Black Barbara, while Cody was a rugged outlaw named Jesse Wales. If you have never done one of these this is kind of how it goes. Prior to the dinner you get sent your character, the attire that suits you, as well as some background on who you are. So you all arrive at the house in character, get issued $500, and start mingling with the others there. The goal is to get as much information about everyone and earn the most money, and you do it however you can... bribes, murders, prostitution, whatever.


Eventually someone gets murdered in the middle of your mingling. The goal then turns to try and solve the mystery of who dunnit? Again, you want to get as much info as you can, with any means possible. In the end, it turns out to be a lot like a real life "clue" game. It was a blast! Thanks to the Orndorffs for setting this up, I'm sure it was a bunch of work. It was fun to see some of our friends and even better to meet a bunch of new friends.

HARD AT WORK...wink wink

This lovely car is called a Karmen Ghia (Cody, did I get the spelling right?) Anyway, this was Cody's car that he drove during high school until he crashed it down a slippery and icy slope. Everyone thought that the Karmen Ghia was done for...so sad. Well Cody, being the stubborn (but cute) guy that he is decided to not trash it. He promised to get the car back in working order and make it as good as new. Well, NOW is the time that he is making his promise come true. I know it doesn't look like much yet, but Cody has been hard at work making this sweet ride even sweeter. I can't wait to see it complete and I'm sure Cody is looking forward to that day much more than I am. He only has a few more things to finish up on it and then we'll get it painted!!

As for me, I have been busy "working". I love my new job! Being a Pilates teacher is so rewarding for many reasons...
1) I don't have to work as many hours...yay!
2) I can see my students progressing and feeling better about their bodies
3) I have helped people get rid of back/joint pain
4) I don't have to work as many hours....oh whoops I already said that

I'm now teaching at the Treehouse gym and up at the University of Utah. The university recently started a Pilates program with all brand new equipment! It seriously is like a playground to me. The room I teach in has 8 reformers, 8 wunda chairs, 8 towers....easily about $60,000 worth of equipment. That probably doesn't mean anything to anyone, but it sure makes me happy.

Beautiful Fall...

I absolutely love this time of year. Unfortunately it also means that winter is probably about two weeks away...so I'm taking it all in while the weather is just perfect. On Saturday night, Cody went to priesthood meeting with his dad so I decided to head up to Logan. I had just worked all day and needed some good R & R. I was exhausted. When I got to my parents house, it had just finished raining, and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. There is something about a fall rain...it intensifies the reds and yellows of the trees even more. Even though I was super tired, I had to go out for a jog. I took Kusaba and Buddy (my parents dog) and after they got done pooping about five times I began to really enjoy the views and the cool, crisp air. When we moved away from Logan, I didn't think I would miss it as much as I have. Cache Valley is amazing...now that I am away, it's my little oasis of comfort when I return. I'm pretty sure Cody would say the same thing considering the fact that he tells me everyday that he wants to move back! One day we'll make it back there...and hopefully its sooner and not later!

The LEANING TOWER OF CHEESA...

Oh the joys of family reunions...it's not everyday you get to make a tower out of Saltines and Cheez Wiz. Well, yesterday Cody and I had the privilege of attending the annual Watts family reunion. I know only my immediate family reads my blog so I think it's safe to say that family reunions are rather awkward! At least in my extended family, we hardly ever see each other so when we do it's like we are meeting each other for the first time. I had two people call me "Tiffany" and my grandma (bless her heart) is losing her memory and thought that I was someone from her class up at USU. With that said though, it was still good to get together, eat some food, and of course make Saltine towers. Here are a few pics I took....

Can you Belize it!!!

Last week we had the chance to go to Belize with some of our friends Brandon/Courtney, and Jason/Becky. We originally planned on going to Italy, but with the exchange rate being so crappy right now, we decided that we couldn't afford it until we saved up. Belize was a blast and so relaxing. Cody has not been able to take time off of work since he has been with skywest so our travels have been limited to 3 days or less. Well he finally had some sick days he could use, so we got to go for a week. We haven't got all the pics yet, so we'll post some more when we get them.

The first adventure was trying to fly 6 people on standby all the way to Central America.

Amazingly enough we didn't have any problems on the way there or back... I guess it was good that we all split up and went to Atlanta at different times.

Next, we spent a day in Belize City. Talk about GHETTO. This place was run down and not very tourist friendly, but there were some cool things to do there so we had to stay for a while. First we went Cave Tubing... which is exactly what it sounds like. (We have pics on an underwater camera, that is getting developed right now.)They have rivers that wind through the jungles and go through caves. Its kindof like floating the canal in logan, except a lot cooler scenery. Next we had to go visit some Mayan Ruins, Which were amazing and Hot!






Next, we took a boat ride out to Ambergris Caye to spend the rest of our time on the island. This place was almost just as ghetto, but it was directed a little more towards tourists so it wasn't as bad. The island had a really simple lifestyle to it. The motto was no shirts no shoes no problem. In Ambergris we were there to scubadive and snorkel, so thats what we did. Unfortunately the Scuba was pretty disappointing. We have heard that it is some of the best diving in the world, so that is why we went, but the visibility was bad and there was hardly any marine life. In fact the best dive wasn't even a dive at all. It was snorkeling in shark ray alley. There we petted some nurse sharks, and tried to avoid the spear of the manta rays while playing with them.


The food there was interesting, everything is served with beans and rice and you have to put hot sauce on it to get the full flavor. Cody and everyone else loved the food, but Tennille wasn't to fond of it. Although Tennille was the first one to try gibnut (we found out that gibnut is a cousin of a rat) so that could have something to do with it.
We found one place called Waraguma's that had great food and we ate there at least once a day if not twice. One of the specialties is a Papusa, which is like a meat filled pancake... Yummy!

BELIZE...here we come!

So besides the fact that its HURRICANE SEASON, we are taking our chances and hitting up Belize next week. We will be going with two other crazy couples...Brandon/Courntney and Jason/Becky and we can't wait! Hopefully the weather will be good because we're planning on going diving while we are there. I apologize to Cody in advance for any sea sickness that will occur... our last dive trip in Mexico didn't turn out so well!

BEHOLD....THE REFORMER!

So over the summer, I have been taking Intensive Mat and Reformer courses to become a certified instructor through Stott Pilates. At first I had planned on only taking the Mat course because I had no idea what the Reformer was all about....but on a whim, I decided to do the Reformer course and am so glad that I did! For those of you who don't know, this machine really strengthens your stabilizing muscles (the ones that help us walk, stay balanced, etc). Honestly, since I have started to work out on it, I feel that I could go back into dancing with no injuries at all. I can't say enough about Pilates and how it has helped my insanity! Now I just need to get Cody on it...his body is falling apart (bad back, chest pain, heel pain, etc, etc) Hopefully one day I'll have 4000 dollars to buy the machine, but for now, I am just excited to start teaching. If anyone is interested...I teach private Reformer sessions at the Tree House Gym in Draper. Yay!
