JANU-HAIRY

Seeing as I haven't cut my hair for about 5 months, and I don't plan to until I get a dental school interview (hopefully around October) Tennille and I figured we need to rename each month to follow in line with mustache march/may. So here is to Janu-hairy, the first month of the new year. Lets hope I get some early interviews or I'm going to have a very unhappy wife come next christmas.

THE ONE GOOD THING...

about living in Logan during the frigid winters??
ICE SKATING AT MERLIN OLSEN PARK

Cody will probably make me erase this picture because it doesn't show his true skating ability. :) It is rather embarrassing when your husband can literally skate circles around you. Dang HOCKEY!

Well this picture definitely shows my real skating ability. My form is perfect!! I don't understand why I keep falling. :)

Aren't we so lucky to live so close to this beautiful place? I would have tried to get a better picture, but the frostbite started to set in.

P.S. Mega post below this one

MEGA POST!! Are you ready?? Am I ready...

Well the last time we posted, Kusaba got some new booties. They lasted all of ten minutes and the laughter was well worth it. Since then, he has not worn them once and we have returned them back to Petsmart.

Let's see, where to begin. CHRISTMAS!! Does anyone really care to read about our Christmas? It was good, it was cold, and Cody got mad at me with how much I spent on him. Oops.
Here are a couple highlights from the holidays:

So as most of you know, Cody has a rather ridiculous obsession with sauces. He cannot sit down for a meal without getting up 20 times to gather all of his hot sauces, ranch, etc. Well I am pretty sure he developed this trait from Jerald, his dad, who does the same thing. For Christmas, I got rather creative and made them both their own sauce "tool belt". As you can see, Jerald's is actually an apron (that conveniently matches his pajama pants) and Cody's is an actual belt. Thanks to my Aunt Margene for turning my idea into an awesome (and functional) gift!!

We hosted a "REVENGE OF THE UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER" party at our new place. Lindsey and Ryan (below) clearly had the best outfits! You can't get better than a sweater with horses on it. On a sidenote, we unfortunately don't have pictures of our Christmas sweaters...YET! But they were good, and they were oh so festive.

So this party turned into a demolition party...yes if you come to our house feel free to kick the wall or even attempt to bash your head through it like our good friend, Kendall. We are renovating the basement currently and so some walls have to come down. Who knew that this was going to be the highlight of the night?? Even Eliza (Nate and Laura's little girl) got in on the action.

The next highlight of our Christmas was getting OUT of Logan!! Our cousin, Erin, got married in Los Angeles on January 2nd and so the Boseman crew headed down for some extra R & R and of course...Disneyland. Here is what we will remember (both good and bad) from this awesome trip.

* Driving is horrible--I really miss working for the airlines.
* Driving was an adventure with Chad, Rori and our cute niece and nephew, Marley and Carson. We have nicknamed Carson, "TWEETER" because of the unreal decibel level that his screams can reach. Marley was an angel. We had fun putting Cody's insanely long hair into ponytails while he was sleeping.
* The weather was AMAZING! I wish we could have bottled up the 75 degree temperatures and brought it back to Logan.
* Las Vegas, was well...Las Vegas. Cody lost $50 within five minutes at the blackjack tables. So to teach him a lesson, I quickly went and spent $50 on a new dress and jewelry. :)
* The wedding was absolutely breathtaking. Our cousin, Erin, had the most beautiful dress. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was watching her wedding party dance to a choreographed routine as they took their seats for the wedding dinner. Another favorite part...Cody and I cutting a rug on the dance floor...oh yeah we still have it! Ha ha
* That same night, Cody drove into a parking garage and forgot that he still had the car topper ON TOP of the car. Everyone escaped unharmed except for the topper and Cody's pride of course.
* Watching and become obsessed with the "Ghost Whisperer"...Thanks Chad and Rori
* Relaxing with my hubby and his cute sister, Amy, as we drove along the Pacific Highway. We hit up all the beaches, shopped in Huntington, and went to the bathroom in some gross port-a-potties.
* My absolute favorite memory from the trip...attending a John Garey Pilates class!! I know most of you don't know who he is, but I have always dreamed of visiting his amazing studio in Long Beach. I took a reformer/jumpboard class and couldn't feel my legs after. It was great!
* DISNEYLAND--Cody and I lasted all of two hours at the park. Apparently I'm not cut out for Space Mountain anymore! I felt like hurling after getting off that ride.
* One of the funniest moments (okay not so funny): Jerald offered to pay for dinner and so everyone chose the Cheesecake Factory. He probably wasn't so excited to pay the bill when it ended up being over 200 bucks. Wowsa...Cody and I had even shared an entree.
* In Vegas, on the way back, I remember experiencing the worst case of food poisoning EVER! I am never eating at the Mad Greek Cafe...ever.
* The worst memory? Coming back. We had so much fun with the family!

Castle Green...where the wedding was held

Chad and Rori (they never blog so
I'll blog for them :)

Erin and her Dad...isn't her dress amazing??

Cody and I doing what we do best...

Marley and the birthday boy, Carson

The view from our condo and me trying to do a serious smile...what's up with that?

Me in front of the John Garey Pilates studio...It's embarrassing how nervous I was to go to his class. He is a huge celebrity in the Pilates industry...and yes I'm a dork

Dinner at Newport Beach...not sure what Amy and I are doing. However, Cody is definitely rocking out his bandana. All in favor of a haircut??? Say I.

Oh how I miss those blue skies!!

THOUGHTS

While I was reading a yoga blog (yes I'm a dork) I came across these thoughts and want to incorporate them more into my life...here's to 2010!!

1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is
manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
5. Make time to meditate.
6. (Breathe)

7. Read more books than you did in 2009.
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

11. Comparing our lives to others is fruitless. We have no idea what their journey is about.

12. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones especially about things out of our control. Invest energy in the positive present moment.
13. Try not to over do. Understand limits.
14. Why take ourselves so seriously. No one else does.
15. Gossip drains precious energy.
16. Dream more while we are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. We already have all we need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Let go of our partners mistakes of the past. Focus on our present/future happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Make peace with our past so it won’t spoil the present.
